catalog and website

Well it sure has been a bit since my last update. But I assure you, I’ve been quite busy.

I’m mostly through the catalog, which there is a link to view below. It will be printed black and white xerox (most likely) and viewable on the website. I was going to have it as a pdf download, but I’m afraid it will look bad when downloaded (its 40 pages, so the file has to be small for web downloads). Im thinking now that I would have it as an “issuu” type display, so you could get more of the catalog flipping experience.

All in all i’m quite happy with it (and running out of time), so im not looking for too specific of feedback, but if anything really is noteworthy or bothers you, please, let me know!

6×9 CATALOG spreads

——-

I have been working on the website, and would like you to go tool around on it. It’s very straight forward, and still very in progress. Also, understand that it’s sole function is to be a teaser to the catalog, and to be a digital documentation of the project.

Things Im working on now:

the fortune pyramid (folded paper fortune teller)

t-shirts/ lab coat/ necktie

re-drawing the building, to my new model (see homepage of website)

little this’s and thats.

  1. i think this looks great. i love the film/black and white stuff going on. and the paper materials look really cool. excited to see more, thanks for sharing.

  2. Chris, this is totally AMAZING! I love the catalog, it looks just like it should. It feels so cultish and well thought-out, and all feels like its from a specific time. I think if it is spread well, it will develop a nice little cult following similar to Field Notes.

The language is great, it all is very simple and straight forward but still has a very interesting and particular aesthetic. The photography is so perfect for this, and the grainy-ness is really helping it fit together.

One small thing I noticed that bothered me, the page numbers don’t line up to the edge of the images on the left or right hand side of the page and it feels just a bit off kilter. Also, I can tell you’re not quite done with the website, but are you going to put text with the pictures when it’s all done? Because I definitely think it needs it, maybe it could even be similar to the catalog.

Are you going to really have these things available to buy right away or will it be awhile? I will put some money aside to invest in my decision making future.

    Great job!

  3. I really love the whole look and feeling of it. It looks amazing. Congs!!

  4. great job! i really like the look of the catalog, it works great with the product.

one small thing i noticed, on page 13, some images don’t have border. and i am not sure how R.A.N.D.I works, but it looks really fun. Awesome!

  5. Hi, love your project!
Can I buy the printed catalog somehow or can you put up the final PDF for download? That would be great, thanks!
